Who says Singaporeans are a bunch of selfish people who only look out for themselves? Who calls Singapore, Sinkapore?

Those are a bunch of unappreciative people.
To think, sadly, I used to be one of them, but not to the extent of calling my very own homeland sinkapore lah. Well, I just wasn’t very glad to be a Singaporean then. I had something to criticize about almost everything in Singapore. From the weather we had to the toilets in ang mo kio.

I shall tell you why I have a different view today, and forever more.

While standing in the MRT train, near the door, my phone slipped out of my hands and bounced off the edge of the door and down to the darkness beneath the train.
Horrified at the sight of the disappearing light of my handphone, I yelped helplessly and stood with my mouth wide open for 2 seconds. Honestly, my very first thought was, ‘Darn the MRT train! What’s the gap there for!?’

To my surprise, a male passenger who stood beside me stretched his hand out immediately to try to grasp the falling phone. His hand jolted back quickly when the door closed. Another man standing beside me tapped my shoulder and said, ‘You go back to Yishun and ask them for help.’ ‘They’ll help me pick up meh?’ I asked incredulously. ‘Yes they will. Go ask them later.’

‘Thank you so much.’ I said to the two men.

It was hard to believe in times of confusion (for me), some stranger would offer a helping hand. I guess I was too cynical and judgmental of our fellow Singaporeans in the past.
Thank you to the two men who helped me get my hand phone back.

The staff at Yishun MRT was extremely helpful in letting me retrieve my phone. I managed to get my phone back within about 10 minutes even though it was around the peak hour, okay, the peak hour was ending, still I was amazed they only needed a mere 10 minutes. That is so efficient.

I had Jayagobi s/o Madahadan who assisted me when I cried (almost) for help and Effendi Hashim who helped me pick up the phone from the track.

Even when I called back to Yishun MRT station, they declined politely when I asked for their names. It was until I insisted, then they gave in. By the way, Mr Jayagobi had a wonderfully soothing voice when he went ‘ Hello, Yishun MRT station. How may I assist you?’

Even though the SMRT staff said it was something small and they’d do for any passenger, I’m still extremely grateful to them all for helping me out. I mean, if I had been the staff, I’d probably smirk at the silly passenger for letting the phone jump out of her very own hands, and give some sarcastic remark. But no, they were very kind.
Thanks, once again.

Wonderful place to live in, I say.

Besides, there's everything i could ever want in Singapore.
My parents, my relatives, uhh not that i can't bear to part with them, my chums, my sweetest deedily poo(*muacks you sweetie) and my favourite heartland mall, Causeway Point!
I’m never going to leave Singapore.
Swell, Singapore!

City's breakin' down on a camel's back.
They just have to go 'cuz they dont know whack
So all of you fill the streets it's appealing to see.
You wont get out the county, 'cos you're bad and free
You've got a new horizon it's federal style.
A melancholy town where we never smile
And all I wanna hear is the message beep.
My dreams, they gotta kissing, 'cuz I don’t get sleep, no.

*BEEP* Windmill, Windmill for the land.
Turn forever hand in hand.
Take it all in on your stride.
It is sinking, falling down.
Love forever love is free.
Time forever,you and me.
Windmill,windmill for the land.
Is everybody in
